Walters have arrived in China!

Ni hao!!!! We made it safely to China after a LONG day of airplanes and airports.  We were surprised with how wonderfully the boys behaved during our 26+ hours of travel, layovers, etc!  We arrived at Shepherd's Field a little after midnight, but we were up and ready to go this morning!  Since we were not sure how badly we would be affected by jetlag, we decided today would be a very laid-back day, with no specific plans or projects.  We spent some time in 2 of the children houses (House of Blessing and House of Love) and ended up playing a LOT on the playground.  About 2 weeks ago, someone donated a trampoline to Shepherd's Field and all the children LOVE bouncing on it.  We also spent some time in the garden (where they grow peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and peanuts).

We were very proud of our boys today.  Our oldest son pushed young children on the swings, helped a toddler build a tower with blocks, played ball with another child, and was extremely protective when other children were jumping close to Elizabeth on the trampoline (Elizabeth is paralyzed from the waist down, so he was worried she would be hurt!)  Our youngest son took charge when some children wanted to spin on the merry-go-round.  He also made sure that each child had an abundance of stickers - one child in House of Love ended up with about 20-25 stickers all over his arms, legs, shirt, etc!  (Hopefully a picture will be posted of that tomorrow!)

We are all exhausted, but we will post more details later this week and try to upload some pictures soon!
